why three words?

Three words are enough.

Holding a moment.
Telling a story.
Staying with you.

Micro poetry is a kind of distillation —
an idea reduced to its essence.

A feeling stripped,
to the bone.

Words carry weight.
Every word matters.
Nothing more needed.

With only three words, there is no room to hide.

Each word chosen.
Each word placed.
Three choices made.

Three words can still:

rhyme
surprise
amuse
break something open
leave something unresolved

They can be beautiful.
They can be strange.
They can quietly devastate.

Sometimes they work like a photograph.
Sometimes like a memory.
Sometimes like a question?

And sometimes, they say more than they
could or should.

There is a long tradition of saying
more with less.
